privacy policy
This policy describes how we treat customer information.
Effective Date: August 11th, 2026
Last Updated: August 11th, 2026
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes what personal information Bisou Bridal ("Bisou Bridal," "we," "us") collects on our website, at our boutique, and through the other channels where this Policy is posted or referenced (the "Platform"), and how we handle that information.
This Policy, along with our Terms of Use, forms an agreement between you and Bisou Bridal that governs your interaction with the Platform, where and as permitted by applicable law. Please read it carefully before using the Platform or sharing personal information with us. By using our Platform or communicating with us by phone, email, or otherwise, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
We collect personal information from and about you.
We collect information when you interact with us, for example (1) when you visit and use our website, (2) when you email us or submit a form online, (3) when you call, text, or message us, book an appointment, or visit the boutique, or (4) when we are otherwise in communication with you or providing products and services to you.
Some of the information we collect is "personal information," meaning information that identifies you or could reasonably be linked to you, such as your name, address, email, phone number, or payment information. Information that is aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized is not considered personal information.
What we collect depends on how you interact with us.
Contact information. Your name, address, phone number, and email address, for example when you book an appointment, sign up for our newsletter, or fill out a client card in the boutique.
Account information. If we offer an online account, we collect the details needed to set it up, such as your email and password, along with your name and contact information.
Payment information. For example, your credit card number and billing address when you purchase a gown or service.
Information you submit or post. This includes messages you send us through our contact form, live chat, or appointment request, reviews you leave, and any details you share when you enter a promotion or event. We may also keep records of our correspondence with you.
Social media information. If you tag us, message us, or interact with our pages, we may collect the information you post and your public profile details.
Appointment and preference information. To make your experience personal, we may keep notes on things like your wedding date, gown preferences, sizing, fitting and alteration details, and appointment history.
Purchase information. Details about the gowns, accessories, and services you purchase from us, including the items and their prices.
Device and website usage information. For example, the type of device you use, your IP address, and how you move through and interact with our website, such as which pages you view.
Video surveillance. We may use security cameras in the boutique to help keep our clients, our team, and our space safe. If you visit us, your image may be recorded for these purposes.
We collect personal information in different ways.
Directly from you. For example, when you book an appointment, make a purchase, fill out a client card, sign up for emails, or contact us.
Passively. When you use our website, we and our service providers may collect information over time using cookies and similar tracking technologies. Cookies are small files that download when you visit certain websites. We use these tools to recognize returning visitors, remember your preferences, improve our website, and better understand what our visitors are interested in.
From third parties. We may receive information from service providers (for example, payment or fraud-prevention providers) where needed to run our business and meet legal requirements.
We may combine information we collect offline with information we collect through our website, and information from different devices you use.
How we use personal information.
To provide our products and services. Including helping you book and prepare for appointments, fulfilling orders, coordinating alterations, offering recommendations, and personalizing your experience with us.
To improve our understanding of your interests and our services. We may use your information to tailor your experience and make our products, services, and website better.
To process your orders and respond to your requests. For example, to process a purchase, arrange delivery, or answer a question you've sent us.
For security and legal purposes. To protect our clients, our team, and our business, including preventing fraud and keeping accurate records.
For marketing. For example, to tell you about new collections, trunk shows, events, or offers we think you'll love, or to send our newsletter at your request. We may reach you by email, text, or phone. You can opt out at any time (see below).
To communicate with you about your account or our relationship. For example, appointment reminders and confirmations, service updates, or changes to this Policy.
For other business purposes. Such as maintaining transaction records and meeting legal, accounting, and reporting requirements.
We keep your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Once the applicable period ends, we securely destroy it in line with applicable laws and our retention practices.
We may share personal information with third parties.
With service providers who work on our behalf. For example, providers who help with payment processing, shipping, email and marketing, website hosting, analytics, or customer service. We expect them to use your information only as needed to provide those services.
With business partners for marketing and analytics. We may share limited information with advertising and analytics partners to understand how our website is used and to reach people who may be interested in Bisou Bridal, as permitted by law.
With a successor to our business. If Bisou Bridal is sold, merged, or transfers part of its business or assets, your information may be shared with the successor, who may use it for substantially the purposes described in this Policy.
To comply with the law or protect ourselves. For example, to respond to a court order or lawful request, to establish or defend legal claims, or to investigate potential fraud.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Accuracy
We use reasonable efforts to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and up to date. If any of your details change, please let us know using the contact information below so we can update our records.
Your choices and rights.
Marketing communications. You can opt out of our promotional emails or texts by following the unsubscribe instructions in the message, or by contacting us. You may still receive transactional messages, such as appointment confirmations and replies to your inquiries.
Cookies and tracking tools. Most browsers let you control or reject cookies through their settings, which also explain how to manage and delete them. If you block cookies, some features of our website may not work as intended.
Access. You have the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you and to request a copy. Please contact us using the details below. In some cases access may be limited, for example where providing it would reveal another person's information or where we are legally prevented from sharing it.
Complaints. If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, or seek a remedy through the courts.
Withdrawing consent. Where you've given consent for us to collect, use, or share your personal information, you can withdraw it in full or in part by following the opt-out links in our messages or by contacting us. Once we receive your request, we will stop processing your information for that purpose unless another legal ground applies.
Security
No method of storing or transmitting information is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. We use reasonable measures to protect the personal information under our control. Where an account and password are used, it's your responsibility to keep those details private. If you believe the security of your information has been compromised, please contact us right away.
