We are gearing up for one of our favourite (and biggest!) trunk shows of the year: Romona Keveza! To appeal to her full customer base, with a range of different styles and price-points, Romona designs two distinct lines: Collection and Legends.
Romona built her brand around her couture and signature bridal line, Collection. Dresses in this line are designed for a fashion-forward bride who wants something truly unique. This bride appreciates exquisite craftsmanship, luxurious fabrics, and is not afraid to take risks- after all, she believes herself to BE the next fashion icon! For Fall 2017 Romona saw this bride in crisp, architectural styles, fantastical laces, and colour- specifically, dusty rose and lavender, with hints of champagne and rose-gold metallics. With a heavy red-carpet influence, these dresses are truly a dramatic dream!! (Dresses in this collection start at $9,000.)
Legend’s by Romona Keveza celebrates a classic style! This collection is designed for a bride who is moved by simple silhouettes and traditional details. The Legend’s bride is timeless and elegant, and is looking to emulate the style of fashion icons such as Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Audrey Hepburn. For Fall 2017, Romona drew regal influences and prominently featured the ballgown silhouette. This classic shape was offered with a variety of necklines- from strapless sweetheart, to off-the-shoulder, and plunging v’s. With lots of removable belts, sashes and overblouses, Romona was all about giving bride’s the option to transform their look throughout the day! (Dresses in this collection start at $4500.)
The Oscars are the height of celebrity fashion. We tuned in last Sunday night to see Hollywood’s best dazzle on the red carpet, and while we felt most played it safe, there were some stand outs- not to mention, some serious trends! We saw a return to the basics with bold, classic colours like black, red, gold and silver. One of the hottest colours, however, was bridal white as celebs put their own spin on this traditional wedding hue! Another big trend of the night was the influence of Old Hollywood. Many opted to wear vintage and/or vintage-inspired gowns, which felt all too appropriate on this iconic night! And finally, we saw (and loved) all those who embraced velvet, sky-high slits, high-low hems, and chic capes! It may not have been the most exciting of Oscar nights, but check out the 15 celebs below who blew us away and made our best dressed list!
Do you believe in magic? What about love at first sight? After receiving the photos from Alyssa’s wedding, we undoubtedly believe in both! This wedding TOOK. OUR. BREATHE. AWAY. And how could it not?? Alyssa and Wayne were married on May 30th, during the exciting transition from spring to summer. The wedding was set against the natural and wild beauty of the Canadian landscape; they said their ‘I Do’s” in Stoney Plain, Alberta, on the sweeping property belonging to the bride’s parents! Colours were vibrant, and flowers were in full bloom. Alyssa’s soft and romantic gown was perfectly suited for this natural and effortlessly beautiful setting! We loved that nothing about this wedding was overdone. Everything was natural, everything was easy… everything about this wedding just felt right. And kudos to their exquisite photographer, for pulling them away from their guests during magic hour! These sunset photos are the stuff dreams are made of! -xoxo

“Nothing but extraordinary.” Bahar used these very words when talking about her experience at Bisou, but they can surely be used to describe her elegant winter wedding! Married on December 19th, 2015, Bahar and Arash hosted an opulent affair at the beautiful Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel. No detail was overlooked! The day was set against a soft silver and amethyst palette. From the flowers and the linens, to the oh-so chic lace bridesmaid dresses, details were refined and subtle in their regality. Delicate shimmer was the final touch! But don’t let this formal affair fool you- it wasn’t all pomp and circumstance. Bahar and her groom know how to throw a party, and they kicked up their feet for a wild night of dancing. (Bahar even took a spin at the turntable, which led to one of the best photos of the night!!) The entire wedding was beautiful, and a perfect reflection of the bride: classy and fun-loving! We know Bahar and her husband will carry this fun flair into their marriage, we and wish them a lifetime of love and joy! -xoxo

Elegant. Romantic. Glamorous. These were the words Tanya used to describe her perfect day and perfect dress. And true to her vision, these three words shown throughout every detail of her July 18th, 2015 wedding to husband, Marco! They described their venues- from the breathtaking Croatian Parish, with it’s sweeping ceilings, steeped in tradition, to the Terminal City Club with it’s beautiful ballrooms and sleek, modern amenities. It was in the apparel- from Marco’s crisp black suit, to the flowing bridesmaid dresses in deep periwinkle. And of course, these three words described Tanya’s entire bridal look! Her fluted mermaid gown glittered with Swarovski crystal and delicate organza petals- the details of which were echoed in her floral bracelet. But in the end, of course, these three words were mostly a reflection of the bride herself. Hands-down one of the sweetest brides we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, Tanya is a truly an elegant woman who made the most romantic and glamorous of brides! We wish her and Marco a lifetime of love and joy! -xoxo

It’s not uncommon for brides to come in with a vision. They’ve imagined their wedding day, they’ve pictured their dress, and they know just what they’re looking for. But sometimes they can’t find it. Tiffany found herself in just this spot. When she came to see us, she’d hit a bit of a wall: the dresses she’d picked out weren’t available in Vancouver, and she hadn’t been able to find anything similar. She was at a bit of a loss. After trying several gowns here, we asked her to trust us as we went a very unconventional route. We were in the unique position of working with a local designer, Lillen, who would allow us to customize. Within their collection, they had all the elements of what Tiffany was looking for, but not in one singular dress. So we had her put on two dresses at a time- mixing and matching, folding bodices down, playing with skirts until we had just the right combination. We sketched it our for her, and in the end Lillen made her her dream dress! It was a leap of faith. Tiffany trusted us and had enough of a vision to order a dress that she’d never fully seen or tried on… and it was perfect. Sometimes you simply have to trust your heart and trust your vision. We want to thank Tiffany for putting her trust in us, and for allowing us to be a part of her big day. It was a truly unique experience, and one of the most special things that we have been a part of! And we couldn’t have wished it for a more lovely bride! -xoxo

Every once and a while, we get a bride who is almost as obsessively detail oriented as we are. Hannah was just that bride! As a designer of luxury baby clothes (Molly & Fankie), Hannah knew her dream dress would be all about the fabric. She wanted a simple and understated gown that made her feel glamorous but not over-the-top. It took a few visits, but once she put on Lazaro style #3312, there was no going back! In addition to the silk satin organza, Hannah loved how the simplicity of the gown was balanced with a touch of drama. And we couldn’t agree more! The elegance of the gown matched their classic estate venue, and we loved the way her refined gown popped against the lush and textured Australian landscape. Just like the children’s clothes she designs, this was a distinguished wedding with just the right pop of playful flare!
